Why shops lose sales

Most lost sales are easy to fix.

People rarely leave an online shop because of the product. They leave because the site is slow, confusing or hard to buy from, especially on a phone.

01

Slow pages

Heavy themes, oversized images and too many plugins. I build lean stores that load fast on mobile.

02

Clunky checkout

Guest checkout, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and no forced account sign-ups getting in the way.

03

Weak product pages

Clear photos, honest descriptions, delivery info and reviews that answer questions before they're asked.

04

Nobody finds it

Category and product pages built for search, so shoppers find you on Google, not just on marketplaces.

Platforms

WooCommerce or Shopify? I'll help you choose.

Both are excellent. The right one depends on how many products you sell, how much control you want and how you like to run things day to day.

01

WooCommerce

Built on WordPress, with full control and no monthly platform fees. Ideal if you want flexibility, content and shop in one place.

02

Shopify

Hosted, secure and simple to run. A great choice if you want to focus on selling, not on updates and hosting.

03

Trade & wholesale

Separate trade pricing and logins for suppliers who sell to the public and to businesses from one store.

04

Product photography

Crisp, consistent product shots from the same person who builds your shop, so everything matches.

Rowe's Cornish Bakers website and ecommerce project

Ecommerce work · Food & drink

Rowe's Cornish Bakers, online and on film.

Website and ecommerce for one of Cornwall's best-known independent bakers, selling to locals and customers across the UK.

Food brands sell on appetite and story as much as on price. Alongside the website and shop, I filmed a brand lifestyle film for Rowe's, so the products, the people and the Cornish heritage come through wherever customers find them.

Specialist shops

Built for shops with enthusiast customers.

Guitar, bike, camera and surf shops, food producers and makers. Specialist retailers need more than a template: good filtering, detailed product information and a site that speaks their customers' language.

01

Smart filtering

Search by brand, size, model or spec, so customers find the right product in seconds.

02

Shop and showroom

Click and collect, stock checks and opening times that bring online browsers through your door.

03

Found beyond the marketplaces

Product and category SEO so you're not relying on Amazon or eBay for every sale.

Questions

Ecommerce web design, answered.

How much does an online shop cost?

It depends mainly on how many products you sell and what the shop needs to do, such as trade pricing, subscriptions or complex delivery rules. After a short chat, you'll get a fixed quote before any work starts, with no surprise extras.

Should I choose WooCommerce or Shopify?

WooCommerce suits businesses that want full control, no monthly platform fees and plenty of content alongside the shop. Shopify suits those who want a hosted, low-maintenance store. I'll recommend the one that fits how you work, not the one that's easiest for me.

Will I be able to add products and manage orders myself?

Yes. I'll set the shop up so adding products, updating stock and handling orders is straightforward, and show you how to do it. If you'd rather not, I can look after updates for you.

Can you move my shop from Etsy, Wix or another platform?

Yes. I can move your products, images and customer-facing pages across, and redirect your old web addresses so you don't lose any search rankings you've built up.

What payment options can customers use?

Card payments, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal are all standard, with guest checkout so customers don't have to create an account before buying.

How long does it take to build an online shop?

A small shop with a modest product range usually takes four to six weeks, depending on how quickly products, photos and content are ready. Larger catalogues take longer, and I'll give you a realistic timeline up front.

Can you help my shop get found on Google?

Yes. Every shop I build has search-friendly category and product pages, fast loading and product schema, so your items can show in Google results. Ongoing ecommerce SEO is available from £100 a month.
